Saying goodbye to Friends

A moment to look back on Friends:

I remember the day it debuted (as I do most shows I've watched from day 1). Forever, it seems, every Thursday at 8pm I'd be glued to Must See TV. Every week for 10 years, since I was a junior in high school, I've watched Friends. It was huge on my college campus. The Lounge TV was always on Friends. And again as an adult, Jamie and I watched it together, my pfamily and I watched it together, and now the Nook watches it together. And it is the only show (well, maybe one of two - Simpsons being the other) that I don't get sick of the reruns.

Aside from being so hilarious I'd snort, it sucked you in and introduced you to some unforgettable characters. Can you imagine life without Chandler Bing? Or Rachel Green? It's insane the amount of culture that has resulted from these characters. How many of you had "the Rachel" haircut? I know I did. And, how many of you find yourself quoting Joey's "How *you* doin'"? Singing Phoebe's songs? All of this has become part of who we are as real people.

Never have I seen a more celebrated show and a more tearful series finale. Maybe M*A*S*H. Again, another 10 year show with characters that you grew to love. (C'mon who doesn't love Radar and his teddybear?) Regardless of if you watched the show, or liked the show, Friends will go down in history.
